The trip included overnight stops at the Station Inn, Cresson and the Tunnel Inn, Gallitzin. Finally the last night was at Enola. The trip included a visit to the CSX Loco works in Cumberland, Maryland. The Juniata Loco works in Altoona was also visited. The usual hot spots between Altoona and Summerhill were visited. Locations such as Carney's Crossing, Cassandra Iron Bridge, Cresson Observation Platform, Route 53 Road Bridge, Gallitzin Tunnels, including the East End Overlook are all included in the gallery. There are also pictures from the World Famous Horseshoe Curve. Most of the trains belong to Norfolk Southern but they still have a few locomotives in Conrail colours. CSX loco's can be seen in Cumberland and there are a few shots of R J Corman loco's in striking red livery at Cresson on a coal train. If you want big heavy trains at regular intervals then these locations are the place to be. Thursday 21 May 2009: A trip to Pennsylvania during May.
